Augustana first arose with the Ladies' Aid Society in northeast Portland. The group soon founded its own church in 1906, using a small chapel, until Christmas of 1907 when their own church building had been established. In 1950 a new church building was dedicated, and the Christian Education Center was completed in 1964.
